Do weights come with the vest?

CANINE WEIGHT SET® uses sand or metal bb's to fill bags as weights, all bags are included with each vest. The bags are removable and can be inserted into pouches on the outside of the vest. The bags can add up to as much as needed according to your dogs strength. When they get stronger add more weight until totally filled. SAND NOT INCLUDED ONLY THE BAGS THAT HOLD THE SAND – SAND & METAL BBs SOLD SEPARATELY ​​(ADD WATER TO SAND MAKES IT MORE DENSE AND HEAVIER) We do not uses metal bar weights as they can be more dangerous and can cause injury to your dog if fallen or landing incorrectly. Bar weights can cause more pressure on your dog and most importantly don’t couture with your dog’s body during movement like sand does. Using bb’s are heavier but more like the sand affect.

How much additional weight does the vest weigh when the bags are fully loaded?

The weight vest was designed to add an additional 25%-35% of your dog’s body weight. When the vest is fully loaded expect the results below.

Mini Vest Total Weight: 4 lbs Sand - 8 lbs bbs

XSmall Vest Total Weight: 6 lbs Sand - 12 lbs bbs

Small Vest Total Weight – 10 lbs Sand – 20 lbs bbs

Med Vest Total Weight – 15 lbs Sand – 30 lbs bbs

Large Vest Total Weight – 15 lbs Sand – 30 lbs bbs

XLarge Vest Total Weight – 20 lbs Sand – 40 lbs bbs

EACH VEST WEIGHT CAN BE ADDED ACCORDING TO DESIRED WEIGHT FROM 0 TO TOTAL WEIGHT. SAND & Metal BB's And FLOATATION PIECE CAN BE PURCHASED AT YOUR LOCAL SUPERCENTER. 

We do not recommend adding any weights to a vest if your dog is expected to swim or jumping in water. Please monitor your dog at all times if wearing a vest in water with weights.

What age can my dog start to wear the vest?

At 1 years old.
